The Saturday of college football action is well underway with the noon games wrapping up any minute now. Although the games aren't over yet, ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit is already raving about one team's performance.
He likes what the Fighting Irish are doing against Wake Forest. Note Dame entered the contest with a new quarterback under center and it seems to be paying off so far.
Head coach Brian Kelly benched Brandon Wimbush in favor of Ian Book for Saturday's game. Book has put together a strong performance with 273 yards through the air and two touchdowns on the day and the fourth quarter just started.
Herbstreit said it's "exciting" to think about what the Notre Dame offense would look like if Ian Book remains the team's quarterback moving forward - given his performance against Wake Forest today.
Here are Herbie's full comments.
Notre Dame's next to opponents will give the Fighting Irish all it can handle and the team takes on Stanford and Virginia Tech.
Will Brian Kelly stick with Book moving forward?
