With a plethora of interesting games taking place today, ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit is putting one major program on upset alert.
Even though Vanderbilt taking on Notre Dame isn't considered the best matchup this weekend, Herbstreit thinks it has potential to alter the playoff picture. The Fighting Irish have won their first two games, which includes an important victory over Michigan, but that's not enough to impress Herbstreit.
That's right, he predicts that the Commodores will shock Notre Dame on the road.
Vanderbilt looks strong thus far, only allowing 17 total points in two games. After watching Ball State nearly defeat Notre Dame, perhaps this pick makes a lot of sense.
If Kyle Shurmur can continue avoiding turnovers, then maybe Vanderbilt will knock off the No. 8 team in the nation.
Vanderbilt and Notre Dame are set to kick off at 2:00 p.m. ET. The game will be on NBC.
