We're only one month into the 2019 college football season, though a group of elite teams might have already separated themselves from the pack.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit said on College GameDay this morning that he believes there's a clear top six right now.

The top six, in Herbie's mind:

  • Clemson
  • Alabama
  • Georgia
  • Oklahoma
  • Ohio State
  • LSU

It's hard to argue with that six.

Auburn is right behind that pack, as the Tigers have two of the most-impressive wins in the country against Oregon and at Texas A&M. However, it's fair to wonder if Gus Malzahn's team has the offense to keep up with those six. Bo Nix looks like a future star, but he's still just a true freshman.

Wisconsin has looked dominant, too. The Badgers blew out Michigan last Saturday and are the clear favorite in the Big Ten West.

Florida, meanwhile, is the other undefeated team inside the top 10. The Gators take on Auburn next Saturday in a massive Week 6 game.
