ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit Updates His Prediction For Alabama

Alabama head coach Nick Saban doesn't seem to be interested at all in naming an outright starting quarterback heading into Saturday's season-opening game against Louisville.

Saban has been cryptic all offseason and preseason when discussing the quarterback battle between Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts.

Monday, Alabama released its Week 1 depth chart. Unsurprisingly, Tua and Jalen were listed as co-starters.

Saban was asked by reporters on Monday if the plan was to play both QBs. He wouldn't even answer that.

"None of that has been decided yet," Saban told reporters. "I wish we could talk about something else."

Most expect Tua to start under center, while Jalen could get some playing time, too.

"They've both done a good job in fall camp," Saban said. "We're excited about the progress both guys have made and what they're capable of doing."

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit appeared on Get Up! this morning and updated his prediction for the situation.

"I think Tua is the guy," Herbstreit said.

Herbstreit believes Saban will go with Tagovailoa because of his ability to stretch the field. His arm adds an aspect to the Crimson Tide's offense that we really haven't seen before.

Alabama and Louisville are set to kick off at 8 p.m. E.T. on Saturday. The game will be on ABC.
