This weekend’s slate of college football games is set to kick off tonight with two conference matchups. They’ll serve as an appetizer for Saturday’s biggest games, which include Michigan vs. Michigan State and Oregon vs. Wazzu.
With Week 8 kicking off tonight, ESPN updated its Football Power Index. The computer model is a measure of overall team strength.
After the update, here are the conference title favorites.
ACC: Clemson – 78.0 percent chance
Big 12: Oklahoma – 49.9 percent chance
Big Ten: Ohio State – 52.6 percent chance
Pac-12: Washington – 45.4 percent chance
SEC: Alabama – 65.8 percent chance
Washington, despite a huge loss to Oregon last weekend remains the favorite to win the Pac-12 while ESPN’s model gives the Ducks just a 6.1-percent chance to win the conference.
Still, ESPN’s FPI likes the Huskies to take the Pac-12.
