Fans Saddened By Death Of 18-Year-Old College Football Recruit
The Arkansas football program is mourning the loss of 2024 defensive line commitment Dion Stutts.
Stutts, 18, died in an ATV accident on his farm in Mississippi, according to his head coach at Memphis (Tenn.) University School. The three-star prospect had only been committed to the Razorbacks for three months.
Stutts' family, friends and teammates are grieving his passing, and college football media and fans are also expressing their devastation with the tragedy.
"Gut-wrenching," said BYU recruiting writer Jeff Hansen.
"Absolutely heartbreaking," an Arkansas fan added.
"I lost my friend in a similar accident 3 years ago. May his soul rest in peace," another Arkansas fan chimed in.
"Truly a heartbreaking day. Words simply cannot be found on the passing of #DionStutts," added another Razorback fan account.
"Words are never adequate," yet another Arkansas fan added.
The Arkansas program added its own statement on Wednesday morning.
""We are heartbroken over the passing of Dion Stutts," the statement read. "He was a tremendous young man with a bright future ahead of him. We were as excited to add him to our program as he was to be a Razorback. Our thoughts and prayers are with his mother Shante and father Dino along with his entire family as they deal with this loss."
Our deepest condolences to the Stutts family. Rest in peace, Dion.
