Father Of Texas Tech QB Responds To Texas Player's "Injure That Quarterback" Comment

A Texas player says he intends on attempting to injure Texas Tech's QB.

Pat Mahomes, father of Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has responded to Texas linebacker Breckyn Hager's comments about how the Longhorns defense plans to deal with the quarterback.

The linebacker said his intent is to "injure that quarterback" when asked how to control Mahomes playmaking ability.

Pat Mahomes responded. "Are you kidding me."

The junior quarterback leads the NCAA in passing yards with 3,519, which is 600 yards more than the next closest quarterback. He ranks third in the nation in touchdown passes with 28, compared to just seven interceptions. Mahomes set all kinds of records in the Red Raiders game against Oklahoma two weeks ago. He threw for 734 yards and five touchdowns and also ran the ball 12 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

Texas Tech hosts the Longhorns on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. E.T. from Jones AT&T Stadium.
