The Florida Gators have a huge home game coming up against Auburn, and late Saturday, we learned that ESPN's College GameDay will be on-hand to cover it. Sunday morning, we learned that there will be another special aspect to the contest.

Florida has announced that it will be wearing throwback uniforms to honor the Steve Spurrier era - the 1960s.

The Gators will be wearing blue jerseys, white pants, black shoes and white helmets. They will be reverting to the old helmet style that just features the "F" on it.

Florida issued a press release about the uniform. It's the first time they've worn this combination since back in 2006.

Spurrier, long before he was a successful coach of the Gators, was a successful player. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1966 and helped lead the team to a national championship.

Florida, as you'd guess, is also selling gear for the throwback. There's a link in the press release.

As for the game, Florida will take on Auburn at 3:30 PM ET and the game will be broadcast on CBS. The Tigers have looked like one of the best teams in the country thus far, so it should be a great game.
