The Gators still intend to chase Dalvin Cook's younger brother, James Cook, despite Dalvin flipping from Florida to FSU in 2013.
According to SEC Country, the Florida Gators are still going after James Cook, younger brother to former FSU star Dalvin Cook, despite James being "80-percent" committed to the Seminoles.
As you may recall, Dalvin Cook infamously spurned the Gators on New Year's Eve in 2013 by flipping to FSU, after claiming he was solidly committed to Florida. He'd go on to have a record-setting career at FSU, and apparently the flip wasn't enough to keep scouts away from his younger brother, who is the No. 3 ranked running back in the nation out of the 2018 class, per 247Sports.
Despite that history, Dalvin Cook wants his brother to make his own decision. From SEC Country:
“I learned from what he went through, so it has helped me with my recruiting process,” Cook told SEC Country. “He just tells me to stay focused, take every visit and listen to what every coach has to say. He’s not telling me not to go to Florida or to go to Florida State. He says do whatever fits me.”
James Cook says what happened with Dalvin has "no impact" on him, and he plans on visiting Florida sometime in the future. He is also considering Georgia and Miami.
