The Florida-Tennessee game is considered to be a rivalry game in the Southeastern Conference – by most people, anyway.
Gators running back Lamical Perine is not most people, though.
Florida’s star running back had a brutally honest comment about the Volunteers ahead of the 2019 regular season.
Perine doesn’t consider Tennessee to be a rival.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a rivalry,” Perine said Monday at SEC Media Days, per 247Sports. “It’s just another game. I wouldn’t call it a rivalry. LSU, that’s a rival game. We look at Tennessee like it’s just another game.”
Florida has dominated the “rivalry” lately, winning 13 of the last 14 contests against Tennessee.
The Gators and the Volunteers are set to play on Saturday, Sept. 21 this season.
A kickoff time has yet to be announced.
