A Florida State four-star sophomore has been medically disqualified heading into the 2019 college football season.
Ja’len Parks, a four-star defensive lineman, will no longer be playing football for the Seminoles.
Florida State head coach Willie Taggart announced the news today.
Parks suffered an ankle injury last season that he’s been unable to recover from.
Willie Taggart announced today that FSU DT Ja’len Parks will medically retire. He missed all of last year with an ankle injury that never responded to treatment. He’ll finish school, but won’t be on the team any longer.

Parks was ranked the No. 9 defensive tackle in the country coming out of high school in 2017.
The former top recruit redshirted in 2017 and then missed the 2018 season with an injury.
Florida State opens its 2019 season on Aug. 31 against Boise State.
