Florida State LB Matthew Thomas Cleared To Play vs. Alabama

The Seminoles should have their leading tackler on the field vs. the Crimson Tide.

Florida State received some huge news tonight regarding Saturday's primetime showdown against Alabama.

Senior linebacker Matthew Thomas, the team's leading tackler from a season ago, has been cleared to play.

Thomas, a former five-star recruit, had missed the past three weeks of practice due to an eligibility issue.

Florida State confirmed this evening that he has been cleared and should play Saturday night.

Thomas had been working out on his own and is a veteran, so there should be no issues regarding his ability to perform on Saturday night.

Florida State, No. 3 in the preseason AP Poll, is set to kick off against No. 1 Alabama at 8 p.m. E.T. on ABC Saturday.
