Florida State vs. Miami preview:

The Seminoles lost their second game of the season last week to North Carolina on a last-second field goal. Florida State was embarrassed by Louisville in Week 3, when the Cardinals annihilated the Seminoles by a score of 63-20.

Florida State (3-2) out gained the Tar Heels 595 yards to 538 yards, including a significant margin on the ground (223-133). The game was in hand for the Seminoles, until Nick Weiler made a 54-yard field goal as time expired to give North Carolina a 37-35 win.

Miami (4-0) still has not lost a game this season, although they have yet to play a ranked opponent. That changes in a hurry, as the Hurricanes are scheduled to play three ranked opponents in their next three weeks. Miami took down a decent Georgia Tech team despite getting out gained by over 150 yards on the ground.

Jimbo Fisher has been the head coach of Florida State for seven seasons now and has led the team to three ACC titles. He took over in 2010 and the team has been to a bowl in each season that he has been in charge. Fisher is 71-16 as the head coach of the Seminoles.

Mark Richt is in his first season as the head coach of the Hurricanes. He was the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs for 15 years, and boasts an overall record of 149-51 as a head coach.

Florida State and Miami have met 60 times in history, with the Hurricanes holding a slight 31-29 advantage, despite the Seminoles' six game win streak.

Florida State vs. Miami prediction:

Miami has yet to be truly tested, and with Dalvin Cook and the Seminoles coming to town, the Hurricanes will need to be prepared. The Hurricanes boast the second best defense in the country in terms of points per game and the fourth best defense in terms of yards.

Florida State is an entirely different monster than anyone Miami has played thus far. Their electric offense will be ready for this matchup. Miami is a pleasant surprise this year, but they will not win this game.
