Florida Suspends 7 Players For The Opener vs. Michigan

The Gators have suspended several players for the season opener against the Wolverines.

Florida's football program will be without seven players, including a star wide receiver, for the Week 1 opener against Michigan.

The Gators announced this afternoon that seven players have been suspended for the season opener against the Wolverines.

The most-notable player in that group is Antonio Callaway, Florida's leading wide receiver and kick returner. Here's the full announcement from the Gators, which says the players "made some choices that are extremely disappointing."

Florida and Michigan are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday, Sept. 2. The game will be televised on ABC.
