Football World Reacts To ESPN's Best Quarterbacks Since 2000 Rankings
Any player rankings list, particularly one for college football, is bound to spark a ton of reaction.
ESPN's Bill Connelly first ranked his top 60 college football quarterbacks of the 2000s back in 2021. Now, he's updated the list to make it a top 75.
His top 14 quarterbacks, led by Baker Mayfield at No. 1 followed by Cam Newton, Vince Young, Tim Tebow and Joe Burrow, can be seen below.
The second time around, Connelly's rankings have again started some arguments.
"Years ago it was nothing but controversy and today it still is! Haha," said one commenter.
"Bruhhhh are we really still not putting Cam #1??? Literally the greatest season ever. How tf is Baker over him, idc about his inflated ass numbers," added another person.
"6 tops the list," said an excited Oklahoma fan.
"Some of y’all don’t remember how much of a dawg Baker was in college," another fan added.
"No better way to start the week than to watch Cincinnati fans lose their minds over someone saying Desmond Ridder wasn’t an elite college quarterback," said a UCF fan.
"Two Mississippi stars make the cut, Dak #72, Eli #47," said the SportsTalk Mississippi account.
"Gotta have Manziel in the top 10 here and I don’t have a dog in the fight," another person argued.
Let the debating rage on.
