Half of the state of Alabama will be rooting for Auburn in its Elite Eight game against Kentucky this afternoon. The other half of the state, of course, are Crimson Tide fans.

One former Crimson Tide standout will actually be pulling for the Tigers, too.

Former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker, who starred for the Crimson Tide in the early 1990s, winning SEC Player of the Year in 1994, admitted he's pulling for Auburn.

"The State of Alabama...Trying to be PC. Whatever, this is AWESOME! I may get hate, but I don’t care. I love that one of our teams in this state is in the ELITE 8. Fun team to watch. Why not Final 4 or NC?" he tweeted.

Unsurprisingly, the tweet is not being received well by Alabama fans.

Auburn and Kentucky are set to play in the Elite Eight at the bottom of the hour.

The Tigers and the Wildcats are set to tip off at 2:20 p.m. E.T.

The game will be on CBS.
