Former Baylor Coach Art Briles Lands CFL Gig
The former Bears' head coach has landed a new coaching job.
Art Briles is back coaching football.
The former Baylor head coach, who was fired in 2015 in the wake of a major sexual assault scandal within the Bears' program, has landed an assistant gig in the Canadian Football League.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced on Twitter this morning that they've hired the 61-year-old coach to be "Assistant Head Coach Offence."
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats' head coach is former SMU coach June Jones.
Briles, a Texas native, led Baylor from 2008-15, going 65-37 and winning 10-plus games in four of his last five seasons. He previously coached Houston from 2003-07 and was an assistant coach at Texas Tech for three seasons. Prior to that, Briles coached Texas high school football.
