Urban Meyer, Ohio State and the rest of the college football world are currently all playing the waiting game. It's been several hours since the school's Board of Trustees meeting started. Not much has happened since.
The meeting, which began at 9 a.m. E.T., quickly went into a private, executive session. This was a planned move for the board to discuss the findings of the investigation and the future of Meyer.
Urban showed up to the building a couple of minutes after the meeting began. His wife, Shelley Meyer, joined him shortly after that.
It's unclear what the plan is moving forward. Few updates have been provided.
There was this cryptic tweet from a former Ohio State player, Vaughn Broadnax.
"Read into this what you will, but I am feeling really good about Urban Meyer right now," he tweeted.
What does he know?
Reports have suggested that a firing is not likely. The Columbus Dispatch reported on Monday that a suspension was the likely punishment.
Bucknuts is now reporting that there might be some disagreement between Urban, the board and the school's president.
"CliffsNotes version (from what I've been told): Ohio State's BoT wants to reinstate Urban Meyer immediately. University president Michael Drake is balking at that; wants Meyer to serve a suspension. Meyer refuses to serve suspension since he thinks he did nothing wrong," Dave Biddle reports.
It's been a wild day. And it's probably only going to get wilder.
Stay tuned for more Urban Meyer updates.
