Fox Sports Is Hiring Former Oregon Coach Mark Helfrich

The former Ducks coach has landed an analyst gig.

Mark Helfrich has landed a new college football gig. It's an analyst gig, though.

Fox Sports is hiring the former Oregon coach, who was fired at the end of the 2016 season in which the Ducks went 4-8.

The Big Lead first reported Helfrich's hiring at Fox Sports.

Mark Helfrich will join Fox Sports as a college football analyst, The Big Lead has learned. The former Oregon coach’s primary role will be in the booth. Unauthorized to speak publicly on the matter, our source requested anonymity.

Helfrich, 43, was quite well spoken at the podium during his time as Oregon's head coach. He should be good in the booth.

As the Ducks' head coach, he went 37-16 and won the Pac-12 in 2014, appearing in the national title game.

Helfrich probably won't be an analyst for long.
