Georgia Tech's quarterbacking depth has taken a hit for its upcoming bowl game with the news that backup James Graham has been ruled academically ineligible.

The Yellow Jackets announced yesterday that Graham will miss the game. Georgia Tech will face Minnesota in the Quick Lane Bowl on December 26.

Graham appeared in three games for the Yellow Jackets this season. He carried five times for 27 yards and completed his only pass attempt for 22 yards.

GT's bowl matchup against Minnesota is significant in one way. It will be the final game for head coach Paul Johnson.

Johnson announced a couple of weeks ago that he was retiring after the season. Georgia Tech has since hired former Temple head coach Geoff Collins to take his place.

Johnson's finale against the Golden Gophers is set for 5:15 p.m. ET on December 26 from Ford Field in Detroit.

ESPN will broadcast the game.
