Last Friday, tragedy struck the Nebraska football family as Scott Gaylord, the father of senior Cornhuskers football player Christian Gaylord, died in a car crash. Saturday, with ESPN's College GameDay in town, Nebraska superfan Gabrielle Union will honor him.
Union took to Twitter on Thursday, asking her fans which Nebraska jersey she should wear for the show. Gaylord responded, noting that he'd be honored if she wore the jersey his father wore to support him during games.
Union immediately responded, saying she'd be honored to wear it. She asked Nebraska to make it happen.

Gaylord, as noted, tore his ACL in August and will miss the season. He's hoping to redshirt and preserve one final season of eligibility.
Props to Union for immediately jumping at the chance to honor a player's late father. Hopefully, ESPN will find a way to showcase the name on the back of the jersey on Saturday.
As for the actual contest - Nebraska takes on Big Ten juggernaut Ohio State on Saturday. The Buckeyes are heavy favorites, but Nebraska's offense could give the Buckeyes fits.
