The third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday. Arkansas State heads to Athens to face the Dawgs.
Georgia has looked really impressive to start out the year. In week one, the Bulldogs dominated Vanderbilt 30-6. They followed that up with a 63-17 thrashing of Murray State.
Quarterback Jake Fromm and running back D’Andre Swift lead the Georgia offense. Fromm has just 322 passing yards and two touchdowns on the year so far. But the Bulldogs haven’t had to rely upon him too much in the first two games given the talent disparity. This game will most likely see similar minimal production. Swift has been impressive with 214 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns in two games.
Arkansas State is 1-1 to start out the year. After a season opening 37-30 loss to SMU, the Red Wolves bounced back in a 43-17 victory against UNLV. Quarterback Logan Banner has 608 passing yards and six touchdowns on the year — he’ll need a big game on Saturday for Arkansas State to have a chance.
Here are the details for the game:
Game Time: Noon ET
Spread: Georgia -33
Announcers: Roy Philpott, Kelly Stouffer, Lauren Sisler
Georgia is a large favorite in this one. While it’s likely to be a rough day for Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson, Georgia fans are putting together something special for him. The fans are planning a pink-out in honor of Blake’s late wife, Wendy Anderson. After a fight with breast cancer, Wendy passed away in August of this year. It will certainly be a special game and moment in Athens on Saturday.
The game kicks off at noon ET on ESPN2.
