Georgia vs. South Carolina preview:
The Bulldogs opened the season with a solid 33-24 win over then N0. 22 North Carolina. Georgia followed that up with another two wins to sit at 3-0, but have dropped two straight against SEC opponents and now sit at 3-2.
Georgia (3-2) lost in heartbreaking fashion to then No. 11 Tennessee when Volunteers quarterback Josh Dobbs fired a hail mary to Jauan Jennings for the 43-yard game-winning touchdown. The Bulldogs had a 17-0 lead late in the second quarter before letting Tennessee get back into the game.
South Carolina (2-3) is struggling this year. The Gamecocks have dropped two straight games and have not looked good this year, even in their two wins. South Carolina's two wins this season were by a combined 8 points against a horrible Vanderbilt team and East Carolina, a non-Power 5 team.
Jim Harbaugh is in his second season as the Wolverines head coach. He took over in 2015 and took the team to a bowl in his first season, a 41-7 blow out victory over Florida. Harbaugh is 73-30 as the head coach of the Wolverines.
Will Muschamp is in his first season as the head coach of the Gamecocks. Muschamp was the head coach of the Florida Gators for four years from 2011 to 2014. He has an overall record of 30-24 as a head coach.
Georgia and South Carolina have met 68 times in history, with Georgia leading the series 48-18-2.
Georgia vs. South Carolina prediction:
Nick Chubb is paying. That is huge news for the Bulldogs, as Chubb is one of the best running backs in the country when he is healthy. Chubb should find success against a South Carolina defense that is giving up 202 yards per game on the ground. Expect Georgia to run the ball early and often and get the win.
Georgia 38, South Carolina 20
