There is a new No. 1 recruit in the country according to 247Sports.

247Sports updated its rankings for the class of 2019, and unveiled a new No. 1 player: five-star defensive end Zach Harrison.

Harrison, who plays for Lewis Center (Oh.) Olentangy Orange, blossomed during his transition from middle school to high school. The star athlete reportedly struggled to complete a lunge during workouts in middle school, but is now the No. 1 recruit in the country.

The top recruit stands 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 240 pounds. Not bad for a 16-year-old.

Most of his contact in recent months has been with two Big Ten giants, Ohio State and Penn State. The Buckeyes are currently the favorite to land the star in-state recruit with 100-percent of the Crystal Ball predictions from 247Sports.

However, Harrison holds 14 total offers at this point. He'll surely add more to the list as coaches close out their 2018 recruiting classes in just under a week.

Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Penn State are all in contention to land the top prospect. Harrison also holds offers from Alabama, USC and Wisconsin.

Here's what his 247Sports Crystal Ball looks like:

Harrison is the No. 4 overall recruit in 247Sports' Composite, which takes ESPN and Rivals into account as well as its own. Will he commit to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes, or spurn the in-state favorite for another top program?
