Here's The Latest On Notre Dame's QB Situation For Today's Game

The Fighting Irish might have a new signal caller this afternoon.

Notre Dame has had uncertainty at the quarterback spot this week. Starter Brandon Wimbush spent time in a walking boot and on crutches after suffering a foot injury.

It looks like the Irish will be employing backup quarterback Ian Book as the starter against North Carolina this afternoon.

Late last night, Book's 7-on-7 coach hinted at his pupil getting the start today.

This morning, Book's alma mater, El Dorado (Calif.) Oak Ridge, also said on Twitter that the redshirt freshman would be starting.

Both players have reportedly participated in pregame warm-ups in Chapel Hill, but it still appears that Book will be the guy today.

Notre Dame and UNC will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

In limited action this season, Book has completed 3-of-8 passes for 51 yards while rushing five times for 40 yards.
