Herm Edwards Lands His First Recruit At Arizona State

Herm Edwards answers questions from Arizona State press.

Herm Edwards has landed his first 2019 recruit as a college football head coach. The commitment Arizona State has received is a big one for the program.

Ethan Long, a pro-style quarterback out of Oregon, has become the first 2019 recruit to commit to the Sun Devils in the Edwards' era. Nebraska and Oregon were both reportedly interested in the recruit, though neither program had offered him a scholarship.

The three-star recruit announced the news on Twitter.

Long says it's a "dream come true."

Arizona State has had some quarterback issues over the past year or so, as the Sun Devils didn't sign a QB in the 2018 class and lost former five-star recruit Blake Barnett to transfer.

Long, a 6-foot-2 quarterback, threw for 3,102 yards with 32 touchdowns and 10 interceptions during his first season as a high school starter in 2017.

He's the first player to commit to ASU for 2019. The Sun Devils' class ranked No. 36 in the country for 2018.
