Watch: Holly Rowe Gets Emotional Announcing James Conner As Disney Spirit Award Recipient

Holly Rowe got emotional, deservedly so, when announcing James Conner as the Disney Spirit Award recipient.

James Conner is one of the best running backs in college football. And yet, there might be a more fitting title for the Pitt star.

Survivor.

The junior tailback was diagnosed with cancer just one year ago, but vowed to play for the Panthers this season. After rushing for over 1.000 yards and scoring 20 total touchdowns, Conner received the Disney Spirit Award, given to college football's most inspirational story.

And who better to give the award than Holly Rowe and Shelly Smith, who both won their battles with cancer.

Conner was the ACC Player of the Year in 2014, the year before his diagnosis. After his sophomore season got cut short due to a knee injury, it was during rehab for that injury that doctors discovered Conner had cancer.

Holly Rowe, James Conner, and all of those who have beat their battles with cancer, or are battling cancer, you are the true warriors.
