Houston Baptist All-American linebacker Garrett Dolan tragically passed away on Sunday. He was 23 years old.

Details regarding Dolan's death have not been revealed.

Both HBU president Robert B. Sloan and athletic director Steve Moniaci both released statements following Dolan's death.

"The entire HBU community is grieving," Moniaci said. "We know the Bible tells us that for each of us there is a time, we are saddened that his time came so young. We pray for Garrett, his family and friends; and for his teammates and classmates as we all work to understand this loss."

Dolan was a third-team AP All-American and a first-team All-Southland Conference selection last season. He led HBU with 140 tackles.

Dolan went undrafted in this year's NFL Draft, but recently had a workout with the NFL's Houston Texans and was trying to pursue a professional career.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Dolan's family and friends and the entire HBU community.

Rest in peace, Garrett.
