The former Texas A&M quarterback has declared for the NFL Draft.

Kyle Allen, the former five-star quarterback recruit who transferred from Texas A&M to Houston, has declared for the NFL Draft.

This is a fairly surprising decision, considering Allen was benched a couple of games into the Cougars' season.

Allen's last start came on Sept. 23 against Texas Tech.

He announced his decision on Twitter.

Allen spent two seasons at Texas A&M before transferring to Houston. He sat out the 2016 season and began the '17 season as the Cougars' starter, but was benched a couple of games into the season after being plagued with turnovers.

It's unclear what Allen's draft stock is.
