Chilling Photos Of Hurricane Matthew Approaching South Florida Today

Hurricane Matthew has approached South Florida.

Hurricane Matthew, a Category 4 hurricane expected to be the most-devastating storm to hit Florida since Hurricane Andrew in 1992, is approaching South Florida. President Barack Obama has declared a state of emergency in Florida.

The hurricane is expected to work its way up the East Coast over the next couple of days.

Some photos of the hurricane approaching Miami, Fla. have been tweeted out. They're pretty chilling.

The Hurricane is expected to affect the following college football games (along with many others):

  • LSU at Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
  • Florida State at Miami in Miami, Fla.
  • Notre Dame at N.C. State in Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Virginia Tech at North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina
  • Michigan at Rutgers in New Jersey
  • Georgia at South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina
  • Syracuse at Wake Forest

Update: An earlier version of this post said Hurricane Matthew had made landfall in South Florida. The hurricane is approaching South Florida, but as of Thursday afternoon, had not yet made landfall. It's expected to make landfall on Friday.
