Idle Ohio State Remains No. 1 In Newest Coaches' Poll

Top college football teams according to ESPN coaches poll.

Another week, another set of exciting finishes in college football.

A pair of top 10 teams, Notre Dame and Stanford escaped upset bids from Temple and Washington State, while Miami stunned No. 18 Duke on an unbelievable kickoff return. No.17 Michigan, meanwhile, needed a goal-line stand in the final seconds to hold off Minnesota.

Duke, Georgia and Pitt fell out of the poll after losing on Saturday, while Mississippi State and Texas A&M climbed back into the rankings. North Carolina, which is now 7-1, debuts at No. 21 after knocking off Pitt on the road.

The top 10, with Ohio State on top, remained largely unchanged. Clemson and Michigan State switched spots at five and six.
