Notre Dame blew out Syracuse at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, and to make matters worse for the Orange, star quarterback Eric Dungey was injured during the contest. The latest update isn't great either.

Dungey appeared to suffer some kind of back injury in the first half after being tackled. Before lining up to snap the ball for the next play, he collapsed to the ground.

Dungey didn't return to the field, and the latest update doesn't paint a great picture. According to Brittany Ehrlich of Citrus TV Sports, Dungey had to be carted to the team's bus. He can't walk on his own.

It's unclear how serious Dungey's injury is - hopefully, it isn't as bad as it sounds.

Syracuse's loss moves the Orange to 8-3 on the season. They still have Boston College on the schedule before a bowl game.

Notre Dame, now 11-0, has rival USC in its regular season finale. A win likely puts the Fighting Irish in their first College Football Playoff.
