We already know that Notre Dame Fighting Irish are going to give senior QB Brandon Wimbush the starting nod against FSU. What hasn’t been clear is how bad the current injury to starter Ian Book is.
Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly gave some new details on the matter today.
Kelly revealed that Book is currently “day-to-day” with an upper body injury.
Book injured his ribs in last week’s win over Northwestern.

The news bodes well for Notre Dame if they plan on making a serious run in the College Football Playoff.
Book has been Notre Dame’s starting QB since taking over for Wimbush in mid-September.
Since taking over the job, Book has shown remarkable efficiency.
He is currently completing over 74% of his passes with 15 TDs, over 1,800 yards, and only four INTs. On the ground, Book has 218 yards and another four TDs.
Wimbush was Notre Dame’s starter last year, going 9-3 including a win over LSU in the Citrus Bowl.
