The Iowa Hawkeyes didn't wind up winning the Big Ten West, but with an 8-4 record, they still had a solid season. Let's take a look at where they could pick up their ninth win of the season.

Iowa won't have a shot at the College Football Playoff, the Rose Bowl or a New Year's Six bowl. The Hawkeyes are more slotted for one of the second or third-tier bowls.

ESPN's two analysts are projecting Iowa to the same game. It looks like fans could be headed to San Diego.

Both Kyle Bonagura and Mitch Sherman are projecting Iowa to play in the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. Bonagura has the Hawkeyes playing against Oregon. Sherman has them taking on Utah.

Utah will take on Washington in the Pac-12 title game this Friday. If the Utes win, they'd be headed to the Rose Bowl. If they lose, this matchup is possible.

That said, an Iowa vs. Oregon matchup would be more fun - and draw more fans.

We'll know Iowa's actual bowl game on Sunday.
