J.T. Barrett Has Entered The Heisman Trophy Race
Ohio State's quarterback has entered the Heisman Trophy race.
J.T. Barrett is a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender.
Few would have expected that to be the case a month and a half ago, when Ohio State's senior quarterback struggled in a home loss to Oklahoma.
Some were even questioning his ability earlier in this afternoon's game against Penn State.
Look at him now, though. Barrett finished today's 39-38 insane win over Penn State with the following stat line:
- 33 of 39 passes for 328 yards and 4 touchdowns
- 17 rushes for 95 yards
- Two touchdown passes in the final five minutes
Barrett, the only three-time captain in the history of Ohio State's program, might have locked up a Heisman Trophy finalist spot in New York.
Barrett has faced a bunch of scrutiny this season, but he deserves everyone's respect now.
