Jalen Hurts Made SEC History Again

Alabama's true freshman quarterback keeps making history.

Jalen Hurts keeps becoming the "first true freshman quarterback to..."

In this year's Iron Bowl, Alabama's quarterback became the first true freshman to start at that position in the rivalry game for the Crimson Tide. In this year's SEC Championship Game, he became the first true freshman to start at QB in that contest.

And, today, Hurts became the first true freshman to win the SEC's Offensive Player of the Year award.

Back in 1980, Georgia running back Herschel Walker won the SEC's Player of the Year award as a true freshman, but the SEC's Offensive Player of the Year award didn't exist.

Hurts is so good he's caused three Alabama quarterbacks to transfer this season.

The Crimson Tide and Washington are set to meet in the College Football Playoff in Atlanta on New Year's Eve. The game will kick off at 3 p.m. E.T. on ESPN.
