Jalen Hurts and the Oklahoma Sooners entered today's game against Kansas State as a big favorite. They're leaving Manhattan, Ks. with a shocking loss.

Kansas State upset Oklahoma, 48-41, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium this afternoon. It was the first loss of the season for the Sooners.

Hurts, who's been a part of three College Football Playoff teams at Alabama, had a strong message for Oklahoma fans following today's loss.

“Climbing this mountain is not easy. It’s treacherous," Hurts said. "Everything is not smooth sailing.”

Hurts is right, of course. While today's loss to Kansas State was highly disappointing, it's not uncommon for College Football Playoff contenders to suffer one surprising loss.

The key for Oklahoma moving forward: It can't happen again.

The Sooners are still in the College Football Playoff hunt, but they're going to have to win out (and maybe get some help).

Oklahoma will look to get back in the win column in two weeks. The Sooners have a bye next Saturday before hosting Iowa State in Norman.
