Former Auburn player Jamar Travis, who was part of the team’s 2010 national championship run, has reportedly passed away. The cause of death has yet to be released.
Travis played high school football at W.S. Neal High School before committing to Auburn in 2009. His high school program confirmed his death on Facebook on Saturday afternoon.
“It is with a heavy heart that we ask our Blue Eagle Community to lift in prayer the family of Jamar Travis. He was a Humble, Respectful Teammate and made us all proud! He was a member of the 2010 Auburn Football National Championship Team and always remembered where his roots were planted. He will be missed by so many.”
Travis was a four-star recruit who served as a backup and a special teams player during his Auburn career.

Travis was part of Auburn’s 2010 national title team that was led by quarterback Cam Newton. The Tigers knocked off Oregon in the championship game.
Auburn has yet to release a statement on Travis’ passing.
