Four-star cornerback Jeffery Carter has had a decent amount of recruiting news lately. Back in January, the Texas native decommitted from Oklahoma.
He had made his pledge to the Sooners back in July of 2017. However, with just over a year until National Signing Day 2019, he decided to reopen things.
Today, Carter put out a new top 10 schools list. Oklahoma remains a contender, as Carter said back when he decommitted.
The Sooners are joined by Texas and Texas Tech in the Big 12. The rest of the top 10 features Alabama, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M, and USC.
Jeffery Carter announced his top 10 via Twitter:
Carter is a stand-out corner for Aledo High School. He is the 20th-ranked player in Texas.
Overall, 247's composite rankings have him as the No. 138 player in the country. He's the 16th-ranked cornerback in the class of 2019.
He may be a former Sooners commit and still have Oklahoma on the list. However, the recruiting experts who have logged predictions so far don't see him recommitting to Lincoln Riley's program.
Instead, the two biggest in-state programs seem to be the biggest contenders. 57-percent of the current predictions have him going to Texas A&M, while 29-percent are going with Texas.
Overall, he has 20 total scholarship offers. That number could certainly grow, with plenty of time left in this recruitment.
