The true freshman has impressed his teammates this bowl season.

Perhaps the most-valuable aspect of bowl season is the additional practices. A bowl season filled with good practices can often vault a team into a successful season the following fall. It's an especially good time to see what young players are ready to make the jump into serious playing time.

At Ohio State, one defensive player has stood out to his veteran teammates.

True freshman cornerback Jeffrey Okudah has been the first-year player impressing his teammates the most this bowl season.

From Eleven Warriors:

When Jalyn Holmes and Jerome Baker were asked Wednesday which young Buckeyes had impressed them in practices leading up to the Cotton Bowl, both Ohio State defenders gave their first answer without hesitation.

"Jeff Okudah," both said.

Ohio State churns out elite defensive backs basically every year and it looks like Okudah could be one of the next in line.

The 6-foot-1, 193-pound prospect out of Texas was ranked the No. 1 CB and No. 12 overall recruit in the 2017 class by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Ohio State and USC are set to kick off at 8:30 p.m. E.T. on ESPN.
