Jerod Evans, Who Left Virginia Tech Early, Has Been Waived By The Eagles

The former Hokies' quarterback has been waived by his NFL team.

Jerod Evans' decision to enter the 2017 NFL Draft was questioned by many. The former Virginia Tech standout quarterback had a year of eligibility left and many expected him to stay with the Hokies.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound quarterback went unselected over the seven-round draft, but was picked up as an undrafted free agent by the Philadelphia Eagles.

His time in Philly was short-lived, though.

Philadelphia announced today that the former ACC quarterback has been waived.

Evans threw for 3,552 yards, 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions as a junior for the Hokies last season. The Dallas native hadn't played a down prior to last season.
