Michigan star defensive player Chase Winovich was injured in the Wolverines' win over Indiana this afternoon. Here's the latest on the status of Michigan's standout pass rusher.

Jim Harbaugh issued a promising injury update for Winovich while speaking to reporters following the win over the Hoosiers.

Winovich, a senior, went to the hospital to get checked out following the game, but the tests are coming back in good form.

"Think we’re in a good place there," Harbaugh told reporters.

Michigan's head football coach would not specify what kind of injury Winovich was dealing with, though.

"Harbaugh said Winovich to hospital for more tests. 'X rays negative CAT scan as well' — he said. Wouldn’t specify body part," Michigan beat reporter Angelique Chengelis tweeted.

Everything appears to be OK for Winovich now, at least.

It's a big week for Michigan, obviously. The Wolverines are set to play Ohio State at Ohio Stadium in Columbus next Saturday.

It's unclear what Winovich's status is for that game right now, but Michigan is clearly hoping to have him back on the field.

Michigan and Ohio State are set to kick off at noon E.T. The game will be on FOX.
