Oregon is reportedly set to hire Colorado defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt as the team's new DC.
Colorado was arguably the biggest surprise of the 2016 college football season. After going 4-9 in 2015, the Buffaloes jumped up to 10 wins this season. Much of the credit for the Buffaloes success this season should be given to Jim Leavitt, the team's defensive coordinator.
Apparently, Oregon thinks so as well. The Ducks have reportedly hired Leavitt as the team's new defensive coordinator.
Leavitt has connections with Oregon's new coach, Willie Taggart, and he's reportedly going to get paid.
This season Oregon gave up 41.4 points per game. That's bad. But just how bad is it? The Ducks had the No. 126 scoring defense in all of college football.
There are only 128 teams.
Colorado on the other hand, had a stellar defensive season. The Buffaloes finished the 2016 season ranked in the top-20 in both yards allowed per game and points allowed per game.
After recently hiring Willie Taggart as its new head coach, Oregon looks to have found a great defensive coordinator.
