Report: Jimbo Fisher Turned Down LSU To Stay With Florida State

It looks like Jimbo Fisher will be staying put in Tallahassee.

According to a report from ESPN, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher has "elected" to stay with the Seminoles rather than take the LSU job.

Fisher reportedly thinks he is going to have some seriously talented teams in Tallahassee the next two years.

Via ESPN:

LSU has zeroed in on Houston's Tom Herman as its next head coach and could have a deal in place as early as Saturday, sources told ESPN.com's Chris Low on Thursday night. Florida State's Jimbo Fisher was also near the top of LSU's wish list, but Fisher opted to stay put before talks with LSU ever got too far down the road. He's told some close to him that he thinks he could have some of his most talented teams at FSU over the next two years.

As noted, Houston head coach Tom Herman appears to now be the frontrunner.

Fisher, in his seven seasons at Florida State, has a 76-17 record. He's also won a national title - back in 2013.
