The biggest game of Joe Burrow’s career has arrived, as No. 2 LSU is set to take on No. 3 Alabama for SEC supremacy this afternoon. The former Ohio State quarterback has led the Tigers to an undefeated record so far this season, becoming a Heisman Trophy favorite.
Burrow and the Tigers enter this afternoon’s game against Nick Saban and Co. as a touchdown underdog. ESPN is predicting a tight win for the Crimson Tide.
Can Burrow and Co. pull off the upset on the road?
The Tigers are confident. So, too, are those close to Burrow.
Burrow’s girlfriend, Olivia Holzmacher, posted a heartfelt message for the quarterback prior to kickoff.
“He’s been ready,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Burrow has been so good this season, he’s become a part of the No. 1 NFL Draft pick discussion. ESPN thinks he could go in the top spot:
Fast-forward nearly three months and Burrow has not only joined that group but is now No. 1 overall on the upcoming PFF top-100 draft board.
To say he has looked like a different player this season would be an understatement. The jump-ball thrower with shaky pocket presence and inconsistent accuracy has turned into the most poised and accurate passer in the country.
Alabama and LSU are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. E.T.
The game will be on CBS.
