This past March, former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel and his model wife Bre Tiesi went through a very public breakup. Tiesi removed all trace of Manziel on her social media accounts and informed her followers that “vows were broken” by Manziel. Manziel mostly stayed quiet about the situation – until now.
Sunday, Manziel took to Instagram with a comment on her birthday that shows a great deal of remorse. It looks like he might be taking blame for whatever happened that led to their split-up.
Manziel also agreed that he wouldn’t be alive without Tiesi – something she mentioned on Instagram during their breakup.
“HBD B. There would be no life for me without you having come into mine. Through everything we’ve overcome I just want to say I’m sorry. For not being there more and doing what I can to make you truly happy. You deserve it all and then some. Love ya for life.”
It’s unclear if Manziel is just remorseful at the way the relationship ended or if he’s trying to make a play to get her back. She has not publicly commented since Manziel’s note.
Manziel was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 NFL Draft, but only lasted two seasons in the league. He’s since played in both the CFL and the now-defunct AAF. It’s a solid bet he’ll take a hard look at the XFL when it launches this coming April.
As for his love life, we’ll see. The two aren’t technically divorced yet, so perhaps there’s a chance at reconciliation.
