Over the weekend, Johnny Manziel made his debut in the Alliance of American Football for the Memphis Express. After coming in as the backup for starter Brandon Silvers, Manziel completed three-of-five passes for 48 yards.
He also ran the ball twice for 20 yards on the night as the Express got the win in overtime.
While Manziel has been busy getting his life in order after being kicked out of the Canadian Football League, he's still keeping an eye on his former university.
The former Texas A&M star had some words for Aggies starting quarterback Kellen Mond.
"Keep that same base kid I see you spinnin it, Kellen Mond. #GigEm." Manziel said on Twitter.
Mond is the latest star quarterback for the Aggies. He hopes to become the next Texas A&M quarterback to take home the Heisman Trophy, after Manziel did so in 2012.
While his rushing prowess isn't quite like Manziel's, Mond has already shown he has what it takes to be one of the SEC's best quarterbacks. He threw for 3,107 yards and 24 touchdowns during his sophomore season, adding 474 yards on the ground.
Meanwhile, next up for Manziel is a contest against the Orlando Apollos on Saturday afternoon. The game will be broadcast on TNT.
