A jury has returned a verdict in a rape case involving two former Ohio State football players.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, Amir Riep and Jahsen Wint were found not guilty by a Franklin County, Ohio jury on Thursday.

Riep and Wint were accused of rape by a then-19-year-old woman in 2020. The incident was alleged to have occurred on February 4th at an apartment shared by the two men.

Riep and Lloyd McFarquhar, who also played football at Ohio State, testified during Wednesday's trial that Buckeyes players were told get evidence of consent from sexual partners.

The two former players did not disclose who on the Buckeyes staff instructed them to obtain evidence of consent, but noted that players were instructed to do so in order to protect themselves from possible issues in the future.

Riep's defense attorney showed videos during the trial in which women agreed, after sex, that what they had done was consensual. Riep also testified that he informed the women of why the videos were recorded.

Riep played for the Buckeyes for three seasons, while Wint played four.

Both were dismissed from the program by coach Ryan Day in February of 2020 for failing to live up to standards set by both the coach and the program.
