Kai Locksley, Former Top QB Recruit, Transferring To Marshall

The former elite quarterback recruit didn't work out at Texas.

Kai Locksley was one of the top quarterback recruits in the country coming out of high school.

The Baltimore, Md. native had significant interest from Auburn, Florida State, Maryland and others. The 6-foot-3 dual-threat quarterback ended up committing to Texas.

Locksley, the son of Alabama offensive coordinator Mike Locksley, didn't end up working out for the Longhorns at QB. He switched to wide receiver early in his career. Locksley then announced he was transferring to Arizona Western College in December.

He has a new destination.

Locksley is transferring to Marshall, where it looks like he'll attempt to be a quarterback again.

Locksley was ranked the No. 146 recruit in the country coming out of high school by 247Sports.

Perhaps he can rejuvenate his quarterback hopes with the Thundering Herd.
