Kayvon Thibodeaux is the No. 1 player in the country for the 2019 recruiting cycle, and he has some schools that stand out right now.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is a five-star defensive end out of Thousand Oaks, California, and he's looking at schools from all across the college football landscape.

247Sports has 26 different scholarship offers thus far, from every major conference in the country.

He tells 247 that he is close to cutting down his list of schools, and listed six programs that he is most comfortable with right now.

"I haven't cut my list yet but I'm trying, I'm really trying hard," Thibodeaux said. "There a lot of variables for me but it's becoming a big headache but my family and I are working on it and we'll get it done.

"A few schools I know that will make my list will be Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, USC, UCLA and Michigan. That's not a top list or anything, just a few schools that I feel good about right now.

Those aren't the only schools that he'll be considering. He also wants to check out Clemson, Georgia, and Washington during unofficial visits.

Thibodeaux doesn't plan on dragging things out too long, either. He wants to head into his senior season committed to a program. He laid out a timeline for a potential commitment:

I'm planning to make a commitment this summer before my senior year. I want to be able to focus on my senior year so I want to get it done early."

Right now, USC is considered the favorite by many to land the in-state star. 86-percent of the registered predictions have Thibodeaux ending up as a Trojan, with the remaining predictions sending him to LSU.

We'll find out where he'll be playing his college ball soon enough.
